Nicholas Douglass (1798-?)

Nicholas Douglass was the father of lighthouse engineers, James and William. In 1839 he entered Trinity House as a constructional engineer, eventually rising to superintendent engineer. He worked on the first and second Bishop Rock and several stone beacons on the south-west coast.
